Medina August Newsletter

Medina August Newsletter

Dear Medina families,

I hope you are enjoying a very relaxing summer.  We know there are still some weeks of summer left, and we are also busily preparing for another fantastic school year ahead.  I am looking forward to welcoming your children and hearing the stories from their summer!

To help support your planning, we have some information and important dates for your calendar.  Please note, there are some dates which are for our Kindergarten families only, and there are some which are school-wide.

CLASSROOM PLACEMENTS

On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 27 parents of children Kindergarten & Grades 1 - 5 will find out who their child’s teacher is via email.   Classroom placements are tentative until that time as we strive to create balanced classes in the best interest of students and this can change up until the placement is confirmed.  Administration and office staff will assist you on the first day of school in finding your child’s classroom.

After the Kindergarten Camp on Monday, August 25 Kindergarten parents will find out who their child’s teacher is via email with a link to sign up for a welcome conference with that teacher.

ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS

We would like to invite you to a ‘Popsicles with the Principal’ event to be held on Tuesday, August 19 from 5:00-6:00.  This is a casual event where students and parents can have the opportunity to meet other families in their grade level and to meet me.  Teachers will not be at the event.  It will be held outside Medina Elementary under the covered area of the playground.  If you cannot come to your grade level time slot, please come during the timeframe that is convenient for you.

We will be sending another update about the school bell schedule and staff at the beginning of the school year.   Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
